Call 001 941 234 4762. There is a strap. Press key 416 ... followed by the country code so that the connection can be established . It  only works with land lines not with Chippie.

The roads are passable, there are some landslides due to the rain.

On St. Eustatius 70% of the residents have electricity again.

What is the weather forecast for Hurricane José?
Multiple weather services say that on approximately 120 km. along St. Maarten will shave. The chance of a tropical storm on the Islands is as follows;

St Eustatius (Statia)
Chance of a tropical storm (wind power > 6-8, > 62 km/hr): 40-50%
Chance of a hurricane (from wind force 12, > 120 km/hour: less than 5%

Saba
Chance of a tropical storm (wind power > 6-8, > 62 km/hr): 40-50%
Chance of a hurricane (from wind force 12, > 120 km/hour: less than 5%

The assistance  continues as long as it is possible. So also flights to the airport with food/water/medicines and aid workers. But aid workers must also be safe themselves, so that they can get started after the storm.

I want to help offer from the Carribean Netherlands St. Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba. How can I do that?
There is a citizens ' initiative in collaboration with the Red Cross, the public entity Bonaire  the NGO platform Bonaire. See Facebook page/Boneiru pa islariba/Bonaire voor de Bovenwinden.

I want to offer help from the Netherlands. How can I do that?
The Red Cross has opened giro number 5125 to support the victims of the hurricane.

What about the wounded and transport of patients?
All dialysis patients and urgent patients in St. Maarten have now been evacuated.  Other wounded are cared for in the Hospital of St. Maarten. The military of Defense inventory the need to evacuate wounded and sick. They examine the possibilities at this time to evacuate any injured and other people who need medical attention of the island.

The Department of Defense and the Red Cross work together in the field of transport, logistics and more assistance.

Is the communication restored on St Maarten?
Still limited communication, but the Prime Minister of St. Maarten  has addressed people on radio. Transworldradio broadcasts from Bonaire with great ability on the Islands via Laser 101 SxM

Is there a collaborate with the Red Cross?
The National Crisis Centre (NCC) in Netherlands is in close contact with the Red Cross and the Red Cross is also connected to the information provision of  the NCC. The Department of Defense and the Red Cross work together in the field of transport, logistics and more assistance.
