Foundation for Addiction and Psychiatry Dutch Caribbean (SVP-CN) expands with new staff<br />
On February 5th , the Foundation for Addiction and Psychiatry Dutch Caribbean (SVP-CN) will be expanding its team of professionals. Four new employees will be formally introduced to the Executive Council of St. Eustatius by the Program Coordinator and coordinator for Saba and St. Eustatius, Mr. Kenneth Cuvalay.
In the meeting planned with the Executive Council the following topics will be addressed:
The introduction of Mrs. Jatinder Kour, psychiatrist, Mr. Sachin Gandotra, psychiatrist, Mrs.Cheryl Ferero, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, and Mrs. Carmencita Chemont Clinical / Health Psychologist. Also the vision and working method with regards to the care of patients with psychiatric problems and patients with addiction problems and the related psychiatric problems will be explained.
The two new psychiatrists Kour and Gandotra, from Mental Health Foundation, St Maarten, and (the successors of Mr. Glen Matroos), Mrs. Cheryl Ferero and Mrs. Carmencita Chemont will be responsible for the mental and addiction care within island territory St Eustatius and Saba together with other stakeholders.
Following the meeting with the Executive Council of the Public Entity of St. Eustatius, a meeting will be held from 13.00 PM to 16.00 PM in Ruby’s Inn with all the local doctors, social psychiatric nurses and general nurses.
The meeting will be formally opened by the Commissioner of Public Health, Mr. Koos Sneek. The meeting will be chaired by Program Coordinator, Mr. Kenneth Cuvalay. A seminar and information session will be organized for stakeholders and the broader public later this year. An introduction of the new staff to stakeholders on Saba will take place within short.
The St. Eustatius Centre for Addiction & Mental Care, situated in the former Pink Building on Rosemary lane, was officially launched February 18, 2011. The Centre is now part of the Foundation for Addiction and Psychiatry Dutch Caribbean that also provides services for patients on St Eustatius, Saba and Bonaire.
